David Henrie On Transitioning To Adult Movie Roles + More–Read It Here!!

David Henrie who played Justin Russo on the wildly popular Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place is now transitioning into more adult projects. Unlike others, he is taking a different approach to this transition and says that he will not be doing anything crazy like taking off his clothes in front of the camera.

In a recent interview The Christian Post,  he explained his philosophy about transitioning from a child actor to more adult roles.

“I think everyone as they transition out of a younger show wants to transition into a career of acting unless you didn’t like acting and you don’t want to do that anymore,” explained Henrie. “You have to transition out of it and that comes with doing older, more mature roles, but that doesn’t mean doing crazy things that just insult your audience. Your audience has to grow with you.”

David says he chooses his roles carefully and only goes for what he considers the good roles. He is now filming the sequel to Mall Cop. He is also putting his directorial talents to work making short films.

Currently David has released a short film called “Catch” that he directed and he also told how he got into making short films.

“[While working on Little Boy] I became very good friends with this filmmaker named Alonso Alvarez Barreda and he did a beautiful short film that I loved called Crescendo and I really admired it,” said Henrie. “I sort of hounded him and said, ‘You know, man, I really want to make a short film. I’ve wanted to do this since I was little.'”

David sure is going in a different direction than his fellow actors and we congratulate him for taking the path less traveled. We know that in the short run it may be a struggle for him because he is not in the lime-light as much as his counterparts with his decision but in the long run we feel that he will be more successful. We wish David all the success in the world.

Selena Gomez Rocks LBD, Reunites With Jake T. Austin, At Alliance For Children’s Rights Dinner — See Pics!

After her lengthy four-hour appointment at her favorite salon, Nine One Zero, yesterday, Selena Gomez stepped out to the Alliance For Children’s Rights 22nd Annual Dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA on Monday night (April 7) looking totally red carpet ready!

With a head of thick, glossy curls, Sel kept it delicately understated in a black dress with dark embroidery and black strappy peep toe heels for the event honoring Anne Sweeney, the President of the Disney-ABC Television Group, as the National Champion for Children.

Among the star-studded guests in attendance, Sel spotted a very familiar face: former Wizards of Waverly Place co-star Jake T. Austin! The pair posed for a pic together and made all of us more than a little nostalgic for Alex and Max Russo!

Check out the pic of the former TV sibs together as well as a bunch of HQ shots of Sel at the event in the gallery below now:
