Dear You Streams New EP ‘I Can Only Blame Myself’ Exclusively With Alternative Press!

dear you

With only four years of being a band, Southeast Texas pop-punks are ready to bring their new collection of music to fans. After signing to newly re-launched label Third String Records in August, they wasted no time in releasing new tunes and have proven that in a sea of mediocre music they have something more to offer than just a sing-a-long melody and a quick drum beat. With the release of their EP, I Can Only Blame Myself, just one day away, they have paired up with Alternative Press for the official stream!
The trio’s new EP, I Can Only Blame Myself, will guide listeners through the evident maturity the band has gone through and will leave them surprised and infatuated with their new strong sound. Dear You’s songs illuminate the emotion and power in their lyrics that have caused fans to rally behind them since their inception in 2010 and this EP is the perfect testimony to that.
I Can Only Blame Myself was recorded in drummer Louis Moore’s bedroom to provide the ultimate DIY experience for the band and the listener. The EP was produced by Louis Moore (Elgin Audio) and mixed and mastered by Kevin Gates Productions.

Mike Ziemer Re-Launches Third String Records — Get The Full Story Here!

Today, August 13th, Third Strings Records is excited to announce their official re-launch. In its time the label helped launch many local Dallas based bands from 2004-2006 under the direction of Mike Ziemer. Ziemer has had a vital hand in keeping the music scene in Texas alive for many years. However, one of the most thrilling ventures of Ziemer’s career has been owning and running a label. Ziemer had this to say:

“I first fell in love with music while I was in high school. One of the biggest things I always noticed was the importance of the record label. For me, if Vagrant, Drive Thru, Epitaph, or Victory was putting it out back then, chances were I was going to love it. It was easy to have faith in those labels to sign awesome bands after all the great bands that made their labels well known. That sort of faith in a record label is what I want to bring to the scene with this new venture, Third String Records.

In 2004 – 2006 I tried my hand at a label with the same name to help out some local Dallas bands, but being 18 years old, I had no clue what I was doing and although what I did greatly helped the bands, when both bands eventually broke up, I didn’t know how to “start over.”

Fast forward to 2014, I’ve been overwhelmed with some of the talented bands that have landed in my inbox and after speaking with a few close friends, I decided it was time to bring back Third String Records and give running a record label another shot. My plan is to sign great bands that write great songs. I am not limiting the label to any genre or location.

The first band we have signed is the pop-punk / indie-rock band Dear You from the Houston, TX area. I’ve been a fan of this band for a while but as soon as they sent me their new single “Castles” I knew this band was ready to take their music to the next level, and I want to be a part of that.”

We are happy they finally re-launched, and wait can’t wait to hear what other great bands they sign!
