Disney’s The Wind Rises In Theaters Now — Watch Clips Now!

As we reported earlier, Disney’s The Wind Rises would makes its debut on US soil today, February 28th. The film was originally released in Japan in July 2013, topping the Japanese box office and the $120 million mark. The limited release on the 21st of February left many cities out in the dark, and anxious for the nationwide release. The wait is over and the movie has finally hit the theaters, and we were able to get our hands on a few clips.

The premise of the movie: “Jiro (voice of Joseph Gordon-Levitt) dreams of flying and designing beautiful airplanes, inspired by the famous Italian aeronautical designer Caproni (voice of Stanley Tucci). Nearsighted and unable to be a pilot, he becomes one of the world’s most accomplished airplane designers, earning the respect of prominent industry greats, including Hattori (voice of Mandy Patinkin) and Kurokawa (voice of Martin Short), and experiencing key historical events in an epic tale of love, perseverance and the challenges of living and making choices in a turbulent world.”

“New” Disney movie: The Wind Rises is finally going to be released in North American theaters in a limited capacity on Feb. 21, 2014, and expanded release on Feb. 28, 2014, under the Touchstone Pictures banner. The movie was originally released  in Japan in July 2013, topping the Japanese box office and the $120 million mark.

The premise of the movie — ” Jiro (voice of Joseph Gordon-Levitt) dreams of flying and designing beautiful airplanes, inspired by the famous Italian aeronautical designer Caproni (voice of Stanley Tucci). Nearsighted from a young age and unable to be a pilot, Jiro joins a major Japanese engineering company in 1927 and becomes one of the world’s most innovative and accomplished airplane designers. The film chronicles much of his life, depicting key historical events, including the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the Great Depression, the tuberculosis epidemic and Japan’s plunge into war.”

English Language Voice Cast Revealed For Studio Ghilbli’s “The Wind Rises” @windrisesfilm

An A-list roster of voice talent has been assembled for the English-language version of Studio Ghibli’s “The Wind Rises,” which opens in select North American theaters on Feb. 21, 2014, expanding wide on Feb. 28, 2014. The film marks director Hayao Miyazaki’s final feature, as the legendary animation veteran announced his retirement in September 2013.

In “The Wind Rises,” Jiro dreams of flying and designing beautiful airplanes, inspired by the famous Italian aeronautical designer Caproni. Nearsighted and unable to be a pilot, he becomes one of the world’s most accomplished airplane designers, experiencing key historical events in an epic tale of love, perseverance and the challenges of living and making choices in a turbulent world. The voice cast of the English-language version follows.
