Demi Lovato Reveals More Of Her Past Struggles And How She Overcame Them!

demi-you-mag-1
Demi Lovato has overcome so much in her past and she is extremely brave to talk about what she went through and share her story with the world. Recently, Demi was interviewed by ‘Daily Mail’ and ‘You’ Magazine where she revealed that she first began struggling with drug addiction at age twelve following being treated for injuries she received during a car crash.

Demi says, “I liked the feeling they gave me – they sort of numbed everything – and I also liked the sneakiness of taking extra pills out of my mom’s bag without her knowing. Everything skyrocketed, which was awesome, but the negative side was that I thought, ‘Right, I am working like an adult so I should be able to party like an adult.’ I was making a bunch of money and when my parents would get on to me for drinking and staying out, I would say, ‘I pay the bills, so what are you going to do?’ I was riding this wave of entitlement and superiority and they were in an impossible position because there’s no manual that explains how to deal with the sort of teenager I was. I was performing concerts on an empty stomach. I was losing my voice from purging. I was self-medicating and I was so emotionally whacked out that I took it out on someone that meant a lot to me.”

Demi really began realizing that she needed to seek help when her mom threatened to not allow her to see her younger sister. Demi says, “Mom saying that made me realise that my life was a shambles and, although I had a lot of success, I was also very alone and miserable,” she says. “I love Madison and one of the main reasons I wanted to get better was because I didn’t want to be apart from her.

Being diagnosed as bipolar helped Demi deal with some of the things she had been going through inside. She says, “I’d been living with this mania – moments when I was up all night writing songs, thinking I could take on the world, and also these deep, dark depressions, when all I wanted to do was shut the door and not talk to anyone. And that is why I had been isolating myself – to try to deal with the pain.”

Wow, Demi has truly gone through a lot and come out on the other side of the darkness as a shining light, stronger than ever. We think it’s wonderful that she is doing so well and setting a positive example worldwide that it’s important to live a happy, healthy lifestyle no matter what. Congratulations on all of your success Demi, it is well deserved! Stay Strong!

Kevin + Joe Jonas To Go “Off The Record” On New Tour — Get Details On The Interactive Show!

Kevin + Joe Jonas

You read that right — 2/3 of the Jonas Brothers will be back on tour this June, but the show won’t be anything like you’ve ever seen from them before.

Kevin and Joe Jonas dropped the news today (April 29) that they’ll be bringing an interactive theater experience to intimate audiences of their fans with their “Off The Record with Kevin & Joe Jonas” tour. Instead of performing their hits, Entertainment Tonight‘s exclusive reports that there will be “Q&A sessions, never-before-scene video footage, audience participation, and many other surprises that will give fans a rare up-close and personal look at the two Jonas brothers.”

Joe spoke to ET to share his vision for the show: “We hope that people will be really involved and have a lot of fun, make this kind of something that we get to do a lot more of,” he said. “We’re going to be talking about our old stories from when we toured together, show pictures, a lot of laughs, and get the fans involved. So I want everyone to come out and hangout.”

Currently, Kevin and Joe have three dates scheduled on the East Coast in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware — but we hope, for the sake of fans across the country and around the world, that sales are through the roof when tickets become available on Friday, May 2 at 10 a.m. ET so that the bros are encouraged to add more stops!

Zac Efron Gets Hacked!

Monday (April 28) started out a bit crazy for Zac Efron. Celebrity hackers hacked into his phone and went as far as stealing his personal assistant’s identity and contacting his friends and family.

The hacker also got in contact with USA Today requesting copies of a recent photo shoot. The hacker wrote: “Hi I’m Zac’s assistant, He was wondering if you can send a copy of the photo shoot you took of him for USA Today. My email is [redacted].”

Despite the hectic morning, Efron kept his head high at Monday evening’s Neighbors premiere in Los Angeles saying: “I’m kind of removed from it because if I kept thinking about it, I was going to drive myself crazy.”

Lorde Covers May’s ‘Teen Vogue,’ Fangirls Over Hilary Duff Like The Rest Of Us — Get A First Look!

Lorde may have rocketed to superstardom seemingly overnight, but she’s not buying into Hollywood standards of beauty — and that might be why she’s our favorite Teen Vogue cover girl yet! The 17 year-old singer-songwriter from New Zealand has kept it real in the face of Photoshop — going so far as to call out airbrush-happy photo retouchers on Twitter for nixing the blemishes on her face during a live performance recently — and maintaining her own personal style and down-to-Earth attitude despite all her success.

In the May cover story — on newsstands April 29 — Lorde talks everything from busting industry standards to what she was like growing up in a suburb of Auckland… and even fangirls over Hilary Duff in the process. It’s a nice reminder that even though she’s a household name now, she’s still just like the rest of us.

Check out some excerpts from the Teen Vogue article and a sneak peek of the awesome photo shoot below now:

Cover Star Lorde Opens up About Everything: Overnight Success, Juggling Fame, and Being a Real-Girl Role Model by Andrew Bevan

“Hilary Duff? Are you freaking serious? Hilary Duff was there last night? This is what dreams are made of! Was she vibing it? Was she bobbing her head?” asks 17-year-old Ella Yelich-O’Connor, better known by her music moniker, Lorde, after I reveal that the former Disney star stood next to me during the singer’s private performance the previous night. It’s Grammy weekend in Los Angeles, and we’re sitting on a sun-drenched West Hollywood rooftop that’s perfectly juxtaposed with Ella’s black-clad, neo-nineties aesthetic. She seems blithely unaware of the fact that she is the music world’s current It girl and that everyone, and I mean everyone, is clamoring for her. And that her album is soon to go platinum, and that in less than 48 hours, she’s not only going to perform at the Grammys, where she’s nominated for four awards, but she’s also going to take home two as souvenirs. Miss Yelich-O’Connor is too preoccupied with the fact that Lizzie McGuire told me between songs that she’s enamored with Ella’s lioness mane. “This is the most insane thing that’s ever happened to me,” Ella exclaims, pushing back her trademark locks (which she says she hasn’t cut in seven years). “That’s my childhood right there. Hilary Duff is a fan—that freaks me out!”

While the world is quick to label this wise-beyond-her-years songstress as a gothic, moody punk girl, it’s clear she is also (if you can believe it) a well-adjusted, non-jaded everyday teen. “There are a lot of expectations in this industry about looking a certain way and having a certain kind of appeal,” she says. “I am feminine, but I really love dressing in boys’ clothes too. I guess that’s why I get labeled as ‘the grumpy girl,’ because I don’t play into that.” Such self-awareness, humility, and, yes, even awkwardness are usually seen as a PR nightmare, but they’ve proven to be the very things that set Lorde apart from other breakout artists. “Believe me, it’s not lost on me. This time last year, I had never put new music out,” she says with a smirk, as if she, of all people, is most surprised by her sudden household-name status…

On choosing her stage name: “I wanted a name that had something to do with aristocracy,” Lorde says of her music moniker. “And then I wrote the word and linked it. I liked the weird juxtaposition between it being masculine and tough sounding with a soft, feminine feel in the end.”

On her ever-evolving taste: “Every few months, I take the posters off my walls,” she says. “I’m like, ‘How did I like this stuff two months ago?'”

On the music in her blood: “Everyone in my family sings and I think that’s awesome. My sister [India Yelich-O’Connor] has gotten a really good response,” she says. “I’m happy for her.”

On social media: “I like Twitter because it’s a good direct link to people. You just reach out to someone you like and say, ‘Follow me please, and then we can talk,'” she says. “I really like Instagram as well. It’s a good one, very simple. I’m also on Facebook and Tumblr.”

On being Girls’ ultimate girl: “I finally watched Girls a couple of days ago and I loved it,” she says. “I tweeted Lena Dunham and she was like, ‘You’re the dream audience.’ I really appreciated that. I was like, ‘ahh!'”

On busting out her shell: “I spent so much time in my room before. I’m out in the world a lot more now,” Lorde says. “I have real-life interactions frequently. It’s amazing.”

Joe chatted about hitting a strip club with Diplo, his future as a restauranteur, and more in the excerpts from their chat that didn’t make the article, and looked so good in these extra pics it’s hard to believe they’re outtakes. Check it all out below now:

  • He wants to record his next studio album in Jamaica: “I love Jamaica. There’s a studio down there that I’ve been eyeing at for a couple of weeks.”
  • He recently went to a strip club with twerking impresario Diplo: “Diplo. He’s awesome. He’s a new friend. I went to see him in Vegas. A fun night of him dragging me to a strip club. There wasn’t much dragging involved.” Joe laughs. “You hear the idea of going to a strip club with Diplo, that’s a dream come true. He’s the king of twerking. He put it on a pedestal. [Collaborating with him] would be a dream come true.”
  • What was it like going to a strip club with Diplo? “Going to a strip club with Diplo was…” Joe laughs. “It was fun. I think he knows his way around that place.”
  • He’s working on a couple of restaurants, one with friends in Santa Monica, and one with his father in North Carolina.
  • Kevin Jonas is going on Celebrity Apprentice. He’s really good at predicting reality show behaviors: “He’ll say, ‘Oh, they should do that.’ And then they do, and they win. It’s crazy.”
