David W Ross’s Poignant Marriage Drama “I Do” Is Now On Netflix!

DavidWRossposter_7

Stepping right into the middle of the marriage equality debate, I DO is the deeply affecting story about a man forced by circumstances to make an impossible choice. Produced by Stephen Israel (SWIMMING WITH SHARKS, BOY CULTURE) and starring David W Ross (Quinceañera, Limited Partnership), who also produced and who wrote the “well calibrated” screenplay, and directed by Glenn Gaylord (writer/producer of LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR), this independent feature couldn’t have been more timely as it had it’s USA theatrical release the month the Supreme Court ruled on DOMA. I DO remains a historical look at the struggles families faced in America before DOMA was ruled unconstitutional.
“I knew I wanted to tell a bigger story,” says writer and star David W Ross. “So few people knew how the defense of marriage act DOMA, was tearing families apart.”

I DO presents both sides of the issues surround DOMA for gay and international couples. What’s left in the balance are families and couples often torn apart because of restrictions placed on them, especially those with bi-national immigration status. Immigration, which most heterosexual couples take for granted as a given, complicates same-sex relationships, even in states where marriage is now legal.

Called “one of the few mainstream gay films of recent years that gets it right,” I DO will resonate with you no matter what your sexual orientation. As David W Ross says, “it’s ultimately a human story, not a gay story.”
