Nick Jonas Supports Communities In Schools L.A. + Looks Really Good Doing It — Check Out The Pics!

Nick Jonas has had a very charitable week! Over the weekend, he, brother Joe, girlfriend Olivia Culpo, and friends turned up to support Best Buddies’ Bowling for Buddies event, and last night (April 29), Nick joined Frank Grillo — who will play his father on the new DirecTV show Navy St. — at the 2014 Communities in Schools (CIS) Los Angeles Gala in Los Angeles, CA.

The mission of CIS is to “surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life” — a very worthy cause, indeed!

Nick embraced springtime by adding a baby blue blazer to his otherwise standard wardrobe of a gray tee, dark wash rolled jeans, and black leather loafers.

Check out the pics of Nick showing his support for the nation’s leading high school dropout prevention organization — and looking totally fine while doing it — in the gallery below now:

Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier Premiered In London

Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered ‘across the pond’ in London last night; the paparazzi and fans were out in strong numbers to get a glimpse of their favorite stars. The original film Captain America: The First Avenger definitely left all of its fans clamoring for more. We all were given a little reprieve with the blockbuster movie that was The Avengers, but not enough to quite the noise the fans were making for a sequel. The old saying goes, “squeaky wheel gets the oil” — we asked and they heard; and now we’re just weeks away from its national release on April 4th, 2014.

The premise of this sequel: “After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off assailants sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.”

Between the premise of the movie and the trailers that have been released, I’m beyond excited and ready for this movie to come out in the theaters. Get your popcorn ready, Captain America t-shirts/masks, and purchase your midnight showing tickets early, because this is going to be an epic movie!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits the theaters on April 4th.

Nick Jonas Set To Return To TV With Co-Starring Role In DirecTV’s New MMA Drama ‘Navy St.’

Nick Jonas

For the first time since the Disney Channel’s Jonas and Jonas L.A., Nick Jonas will be taking off his guest star hat and heading back to the small screen full time!

According to a story by The Hollywood Reporter, Nick is set to co-star in DirecTV’s Navy St., a gritty, family drama centered around a mixed martial arts gym in Venice, CA called Navy Street, run by Alvey Henderson (played by Frank Grillo), “a former fighter whose drug addiction prevented him from making it big.”

Nick will be playing Alvey’s son, Nate Henderson, a “shy kid who receives a UFC contract,” and is, subsequently, his “father’s pride and joy,” all while dealing with the impact of the addiction issues of his older brother, Jay (played by Jonathan Tucker), with whom he lives.

Kiele Sanchez, formerly of A&E’s The Glades, sits top-bill with Nick, and will be playing Lisa Prince, Alvey’s long-time girlfriend.

Production is set to begin May 5 in Los Angeles on a total of ten episodes and will air on DirecTV’s Audience Network in the fall. We can’t wait to find out more about this exciting new project for him! In the meantime, we’ll keep counting down the days until the season finale of Hawaii Five-0, where Nick will reprise his role as evil mastermind Ian Wright!

What do you think about this role for Nick? Can you see him as an MMA fighter? Just take a look at his healthy living selfie once again up there — we rest our case!
