Disney Parks Builds AVATAR Land At Disney’s Animal Kindgom! @DisneyParks @WaltDisneyWorld

disneyWalt Disney Parks celebrated earlier this week for their groundbreaking ceremony for the newly built and upcoming AVATAR Land as part of Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. With the new addition, a statue of an Avatar character, Na’vi, is placed along side giant blue Avatar themed shovels.

The ceremony was held by the leaders of the resort as well as Lightstorm Entertainment – the makers of Avatar. The statue of Na’vi shows the scale of how tall the characters from Avatar actually were in comparison to us. The Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Tom Staggs, seemed to be thrilled about the new attraction. Here is what he had say:

“Disney’s Animal Kingdom is already home to some of our guests’ favorite attractions. With AVATAR, we are adding a spectacular new world and an exciting set of attractions unlike any our guests have experienced. The expansion now under way will make the park a true full-day, must-see experience.”

This expansion is a big step for Disney Parks. Be sure to check out the video below of some footage from the groundbreaking ceremony and let us know what you think by commenting!
