Shailene Woodley Suits Up (Twice!) At CinemaCon, Accepts Award — Check Out Our Big Gallery!

Fresh off a string of Divergent premieres (from L.A. to N.Y. to Mexico) and with the film’s box office success — $56 million nationwide on opening weekend alone! — earned a quick greenlight for the second installment in the trilogy, Insurgent, Shailene Woodley touched down in Las Vegas, NV for appearances at CinemaCon, the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners!

Thursday afternoon (March 27) saw Shailene walking the red carpet and taking the stage at 20th Century Fox’s Special Presentation highlighting its future release schedule, at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace. Among the releases we can expect soon? Shailene’s next starring vehicle The Fault In Our Stars, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by John Green. Dressed in a tan Dolce & Gabbana suit with fresh white Keds, Shai introduced an exclusive clip from the film and even posed with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann!

Proving she can’t get enough of the menswear trend — which is really making a big splash among young Hollywood this week, with Emma Watson and Selena Gomez both trying it out, too — Shai stayed loyal to D&G but switched to black satin at nighttime for the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards, also at the Colosseum, where she received the Female Star of Tomorrow award! Of course, in our books, she’s the Female Star of Today.

Check out all the pics from yesterday’s events in the galleries below now and let us know what you think of this trend and how Shailene pulls it off!

Disney’s Million Dollar Arm / CinemaCon

cinemacon

CinemaCon is being held in Las Vegas this year at the Caesar’s Palace — the event was hosted by Alan Horn, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios, and Dave Hollis, EVP, Theatrical Distribution, The Walt Disney Studios. Jon Hamm, star of the upcoming “Million Dollar Arm”, was on hand to receive the CinemaCon Award of Excellence in Acting and afterwards there was a special screening of the film.

Million Dollar Arm is based on a true story, “sports agent JB Bernstein (Jon Hamm) finds that business has changed and things aren’t going well for his career. In a last ditch effort to save his livelihood he concocts a scheme to find baseball’s next great pitching ace. Hoping to find a young cricket pitcher he can turn into a major league baseball star, JB travels to India to produce a reality show competition called “The Million Dollar Arm.” With the help of cantankerous but eagle-eyed retired baseball scout Ray Poitevint (Alan Arkin), he discovers Dinesh (played by Madhur Mittal from “Slumdog Millionaire”) and Rinku (played by Suraj Sharma from “Life of Pi”), two 18 year old boys who have no idea about playing baseball, yet have a knack for throwing a fastball. Hoping to sign them to major league contracts and make a quick buck, JB brings the boys home to America to train. While the Americans are definitely out of their element in India — the boys, who have never left their rural villages — are equally challenged when they come to the States. As the boys learn the finer points of baseball — JB, with the help of his charming friend Brenda (Lake Bell) — learns valuable life lessons about teamwork, commitment and what it means to be a family”.
