According to the show’s website, Gigi is set in the magical world of La Belle Epoque Paris, where fashion, glamour, and passion prevail. It follows a journey of one young woman to find her true self and her true love.

Vanessa Hudgens will soon be acting in the Broadway play Gigi. Vanessa also recently had a shoot for a promo commercial for the play. She shared a behind the scenes photo from the shoot and wrote:

“Shot a promo commercial for @gigionbroadway it was so much fun! I can’t wait to start.”

Guess Which ‘The Voice’ Winner Will Make Their Way To Broadway!

Josh Kaufman, winner of The Voice season six will be making his debut on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical play, Pippin. He will take the place of Kyle Dean Massey and will start his run on Nov. 4th and it will continue on until Jan. 4, 2015. 

He did an interview with the Calgary Herald, a Canadian daily news paper where he stated, “It’s something I’m really excited about. I tend to be the kind of person who doesn’t want to do just one thing. I get bored. So I’m really excited about having a new challenge and having something different to do.”

The former SAT prep tutor and father of three was coached by Usher who helped him to become the champion of The Voice‘s sixth competition. Kaufman mentioned that he doesn’t really have too much stage experience but has performed in front of millions on TV. He feels those skills will be very useful to him stating, “I’ve been performing since I was a little kid. In a way, it’s a really new experience. But in a way, I feel like I can draw on the experiences that I’ve had in the past to tackle this new challenge.”

Pippin, is a coming of age story about the son of the first Holy Roman Emperor who begins a dangerous adventure, which is encouraged by mysterious dancers and pop rock music.

This past Tuesday (September 9), Keke Palmer made her debut performance as the first African-American to play Cinderella on Broadway. Keke replaced Cindy Paige Faure in the role of Cinderella. After her debut performance, Keke sent out some thanks to all those who have supported her and continue to support her. Here is your message:

“thank you to all my loved ones for my flowers, texts and emails of support! My dressing room is beautiful because of YOU! I had such an overwhelmingly thrilling debut night. Broadway .. Wow. God is so good, I am so grateful to the The Lord for using me in such a way that I can freely express his love through my passion. Tonight, my career, my LIFE, is a testament to the power of love; of God’s light! When you embrace him and who you are, when you spread love and kindness, when you stay consistent in your sincerity .. There’s NOTHING you can not do. Nothing is easy, it will be difficult. But understand you are not alone, we are all together. 💯😍😘 — thankful to all of those that made it to the show tonight and I love all of those that were praying for me where they were.”

Vanessa Hudgens excitedly tweeted today, September 10th, that she will headline the new musical, Gigi!!  She tweets:

The show will have a four week tryout beginning January 16th, 2015 at the Kennedy Center.

Keke Palmer Becomes The New Cinderella On Broadway!

Actress and singer Keke Palmer will be making history as the first ever African American Cinderella on Broadway. It will also be her Broadway debut as the new star of the show. Previously, Carly Rae Jepsen took on the role as Cinderella on Broadway and while her time came to an end, we are super excited to see Keke on the Rodgers & Hammerstein’s play! Keke sent the following messages on Twitter after her new role was announced:

“Thank you so much for all the love & support everyone. I am so thankful, I have an infinite amount of gratitude. Praise God!”

“I’m sooooo excited to be doing broadway for the first time, as Cinderella!! DREAMS DO COME TRUE!! “
