Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier Tops The Box Office With $300M Worldwide


Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier was released on Friday, April 4th to the delight of first avenger fans worldwide. It was one of the years most highly anticipated movies, and it did not disappoint. The Winter Soldier raked in a cool $96.2 million on its opening weekend, setting a record for the month of April. Captain America: First Avenger in comparison only earned 65 million in its first domestic weekend.

The comic book turned big screen film made over $300 million dollars worldwide. The movie was action packed and full of plot twists and turns. The classic after credit scenes left us all begging for more and with many unanswered questions; don’t worry if you haven’t seen the movie, we won’t spoil it for you.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman Take Top Honors At The Box Office


When the weekend comes it usually means different things to different people — a trip to the beach, shopping, quality time with the family, or doing work around the house. One thing that remains a constant, new movies are being released and moviegoers flock to their favorite local theaters to see the newest releases.

This weekend Mr. Peabody & Sherman took top honors at the box office in its second week with $21.2 million, according to THR. And coming in the No. 2 spot was the newly released 300: Rise of an Empire, starring Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, and Lena Headey, which grossed $19.1 million for a 10-day North American total of $78.3 million.

In the No.3 spot was video game turned big screen film Need for Speed, starring Aaron Paul which made $17.8 million. Rounding out the top five were Liam Neeson‘s thriller Non-Stop and Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club, which brought in $10.6 million and $8.3 million, respectively.

Disney’s FROZEN Sing-A-Long Version In Theaters In Friday


Disney’s newest animated movie FROZEN has been a box office juggernaut taking the crown as the highest-grossing original animated movie in history — a title previous held by Finding Nemo. The execs at Disney are taking advantage of the films popularity and are releasing an all-new sing-along version of the Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning big screen adventure in more than 2000 theaters nationwide. “Frozen” is going to be released in theaters beginning this Friday, January 31st — the film will feature on-screen lyrics and a magical bouncing snowflake will accompany select showings.
