VIDEO: Alyson Stoner Premieres Missy Elliott Tribute Video On BuzzFeed!

alyson missy elliott tributeAfter receiving thousands of tweets and a story on Buzzfeed asking why “the little girl from Missy Elliott’s videos” wasn’t on stage with the Grammy award-winning rapper during the Super Bowl Halftime performance last week, Alyson Stoner is responding to the public’s outcry with her very own music video tribute to the hip-hop artist who helped launch her career. Premiering on Buzzfeed.com today along with an exclusive interview, viewers will find Stoner performing alongside various other original “Missy” dancers to some of Missy’s iconic songs with the signature moves from the original.

“I literally received thousands of twitter shout outs and texts about why I wasn’t performing with Missy,” explains Stoner. “I didn’t think much of it at the time, but I still stay in touch with a lot of the dancers from those videos and thought this would be a fun way to show people what I have been up for the past 13 years!”

Shot in a warehouse in downtown Los Angeles, the original Missy Elliott dancers, including the “Beat Freaks” from MTV’s hit show America’s Best Dance Crew, gathered together to relive some of the signature choreography (first set by critically acclaimed choreographer Hi Hat). They also shared fresh new moves created by “Beat Freaks” dancer/choreographer Lindsey B.

The video was directed by Tim Milgram, who is most known for creating viral YouTube dance videos, which have garnered hundreds of millions of views. He has worked with world-renowned choreographers such as Brian Friedman (Britney Spears), Tricia Miranda (Missy Elliott), Willabeast Adams (T-Pain), and many more.

Since Stoner’s dancing debut in Missy’s music videos, she has been seen acting in countless box office hits such as Cheaper By The Dozen 1 & 2, the Step Up dance series, Camp Rock 1 & 2 The Final Jam, continues to be the voice of “Isabella” in the Emmy Award winning cartoon Phineas & Ferb and many more. In addition to her acting and dancing skills, Stoner has embraced her musical side and released numerous original songs and covers on her YouTube channels and on iTunes. She has also appeared as a guest artist in music videos with YouTube sensations Max & Kurt Schneider, Tyler Ward among others.  Today, the triple threat star has four films releasing this year, Hoovey, The A-List, Sugar Babies and Selling Isobel.

alyson stoner

Camp Rock and Phineas & Ferb star Alyson Stoner, is going viral as she recently released three music videos in the past two weeks and has already garnered nearly 2 million views combined.

After the immense success of “Sweater Weather,” with YouTube sensations Max & Kurt Schneider, which attracted over 8 million views, they dynamic trio did it again with a unique rendition of Maroon 5’s “Maps.” This fun upbeat pop tune was rearranged by the Schneiders and shot entirely in one take with choreography staged and performed to promote Just Dance 2015.

Additionally, the Step Up actress also teamed up with popular Warner Music Group singer/songwriter Tyler Ward, for two smash video collaborations: an original song “Without You” and an edgy cover of “Hanging Tree” as heard in the blockbuster hit The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Stoner and Ward added their own spin on the song by writing their own lyrics expanding on the secret romance between two lovers amidst the intensely corrupt Capitol and unjust life in the Districts.

Currently, the Disney actress is on location in Vancouver playing the lead in the new film Sugar Babies.
