Mr. Peabody and Sherman Take Top Honors At The Box Office

When the weekend comes it usually means different things to different people — a trip to the beach, shopping, quality time with the family, or doing work around the house. One thing that remains a constant, new movies are being released and moviegoers flock to their favorite local theaters to see the newest releases.

This weekend Mr. Peabody & Sherman took top honors at the box office in its second week with $21.2 million, according to THR. And coming in the No. 2 spot was the newly released 300: Rise of an Empire, starring Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, and Lena Headey, which grossed $19.1 million for a 10-day North American total of $78.3 million.

In the No.3 spot was video game turned big screen film Need for Speed, starring Aaron Paul which made $17.8 million. Rounding out the top five were Liam Neeson‘s thriller Non-Stop and Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club, which brought in $10.6 million and $8.3 million, respectively.
