Screen Shot 2015-03-12 at 12.24.45 PM

Meet Alec Chambers, the virtuosic 19-year-old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who could understand chord charts well before he could operate a motor vehicle. Chambers recently released his much-anticipated first single “Whole Again.” Below is our exclusive interview with Alec!

Hi Alec, it’s nice to talk to you how are you doing?
Heyyyyyyy. I’m doing great! working on a lot of cool things. Excited that the EP is finally out. :)
What was the process to get your new ep all together?
I’ve been writing for this EP for about 2 years. After gathering about 40 or so songs, my manager and I sat down and chose the 4 that we thought really represented who I want to be as an artist. The kind of music I want to make. We recorded the EP in Brooklyn with Rob Guariglia. It was 8 hours days, 4 days a week for about 2 months straight. it was awesome.
How has the reaction of your EP been? Is it what you expect or better?
It’s been really great. It was exactly what I expected. A lot of people really don’t know who I am yet, but this record definitely allowed me to get to the next stage of my career. Really pleased with the response.
We see you have a few shows coming up, what are you looking forward to the most?
I’m looking forward to playing out, and getting myself in front of people and singing from my heart.
Have you had any weird or odd fan experiences?
Haha. Uh. No
Is there one thing that you have to bring with you when going away for shows?
Not really. Just my guitar. I need that….
Being that you just released your EP can we expect an album next?
Probably another EP! I have no plans to record one yet, but I’m hoping soon.
What are the next things you will be working on being that you just finished your EP?
Playing more shows, working to get my music heard, writing. Everything. Everything that I was still doing before the ep was out…. :)
Thanks so much Alec for taking the time to chat with TeenInfoNet!

Franki Love Premieres New Single “Walking Wounded”!

franki

LA/NYC based singer-songwriter Franki Love has released her brand new single “Walking Wounded” from her upcoming album OTIAS, out later this year. “I wrote ‘Walking Wounded’ late one night at the piano,” Franki tells Cliche Mag. “After my mom passed away from cancer, I was being mentored by music producer Phil Ramone who encouraged me to sit at the piano and start writing. I wrote this song about how we’re all connected as one – if one person is hurting, then we are all walking wounded.”

“Walking Wounded” was produced by Grammy award-winning producer, David Kershenbaum, who also produced two other songs on OTIAS. “I’m hoping that when people hear the song, they’ll feel inspired and connected to it.” – Franki Love

A classically trained pianist, Franki Love began playing music at the early age of four, and started her career by performing at local coffee shops in Los Angeles. Franki has garnered success at the LA Music Awards, where she took home the award for ‘Female Singer-Songwriter of the Year,’ as well as ‘Single of the Year’ for her hit, “Shadow.” The official music video for “Shadow” was also nominated for ‘Best Music Video’ at the Hollywood Film Festival.

Franki’s upcoming album OTIAS was funded via Kickstarter. The album is dedicated to her mother, who passed away in January 2013 due to cancer.

Nashville Hip-Hop Artist, ShaManic Is About To Go “Mindless”!

Shamanic1_20

ShaManic, the Nashville rapper known for his dynamic beats, diverse melodies and passionate vocals will be releasing his brand new video Mindless which is taken from his debut album THE ARTIST on February 24, 2015.
The song originated from ShaManic’s past in a mental institution where he battled physical health issues. Produced by Provoke Films, “Mindless” was directed by Ciro Ayala and animated by Cyrus Wang and Caesar Liu.
Mindless takes you on a journey inside the depths of ShaManic’s fraught mind as he recounts the experience of being a patient in a psychiatric hospital. He expresses the grueling experience throughout the lyrics of the song:

Run off the tracks, crash in a blaze of gory glory
Only I have a cadaver gathered to take the place for me
As I escape and relax, fiddling with a straight jacket latch
Next time I’ll just snap my arm in half and escape like that
ShaManic’s Mindless video is like a page out of Hunter S. Thompson’s classic Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas coming to life and brilliantly illustrating the drug induced imagery – morphing characters, fictional animals and drug euphoria which he experienced during his hospitalization.
At least I’ve got this seraquil Vanderbilt prescribed telling me it might help
If I keep trying to bite, I might be masked no vigilante
Psychotic, depressed, anxious, they trying to up the anti
But all the meds do is fuck my head and leave me feeling antsy
The video is also filled with colorful metaphors, abstract art and vivid dream-like depictions to symbolize the artistic and imaginative mind of ShaManic. He uses art in different ways to tell his triumphant story, “Music is ecstasy to me. It’s the place I can escape to and forget the world; forget my pain, my problems, and a place where everything is possible. When I write a song, I guess that’s where I’m trying to take you,” ShaManic explains.

Mindless is ShaManic’s way of spreading his message in the hope that it will reach and affect others who find themselves struggling through dark times. It is however, the same journey which fueled his brightly burning artistic fire.
